Fruit Punch! Behind The Scenes

Fruit Punch! is the all new Perro Worldwide Comics series featuring the Fructose Samurai, and it premieres this Wednesday, April 17th, 2024! Ahead of the release, I thought it'd be fun to talk a little bit about the making of the first episode.

To begin, the episode stars: Chip Perro as Dale Aroura, Matthew Petrosino as Vance Gray, Pearl Scott as Charlotte Gemini, and Cho Colette as Pam Wyatt. Also in the episode are: Brendan Burrell, Brian J. Hutch, Terrance Xavier Thorpe, Sarah Calkins, Sarah Hansen, and Steve Hansen.

The inaugural episode of Fruit Punch! was filmed at Impact Fitness, in Auburn, Massachusetts. It's a gym like no other I've seen, and from the moment I first walked in, I knew I wanted to film there. A real bodybuilding first kind of place, this gym is all about lifting heavy and exuding strength.

Filming primarily took place over the course of a single day, and special priority was given to the two fight scenes featured in the episode. The first fight scene is a rumble between the weights, while the second fight scene is a throwback to more traditional Japanese kumite. Both fight scenes are strikingly different, while also being entirely captivating!
